Projectile point Native Americans fashioned chert and flint into a variety of tools and points. The size and design of the point depended upon its intended use. Crafting these tools and weapons was labor intensive, so points were retrieved and used over and over again. This chert point has been lashed to a modern spear haft with sinew, or animal tendon. Sinew bound while fresh has the useful trait of shrinking as it dries.
